One year ago, today, I was diagnosed with an arthritic shoulder and told that I had to replace it. The orthopedists warned me not to wait six months to decide about the surgery.
I did not wait. I instantly decided to avoid the knife and the infamously uncertain outcomes of shoulder surgery. Afterall, I submitted to the exam for a diagnosis, not for a treatment or procendure.
Due to the influence of my friend, Gus Diamantopoulos, I already knew of the hanging shoulder traction as discovered by retired orthopedic surgeon, John Kirsch. I had already begun to employ this traction, but then began to perform it more frequently and seriously. My shoulder became much better.
Today, I can do things with my shoulder that I could not do a year ago. And I can now do other things with my shoulder that I could not do a year ago without pain. It’s amazing.
The shoulder is not normal and probably never will be again. But it is mine. And it is not an internally planted apparatus for me to worry about going wrong.
As many readers know, I wrote a book, Shoulder Rehab, that descibes my journey to avoid the doctors and mend my shoulder using John Kirsch’s book, Shoulder Pain?. It is available from baye.com.
Very good news Ken. We have been wondering how this all worked out, and will now share your success with our clients. Many Thanks, DC & MZ
